104th Reconstruction – Hickman Road to Douglas Ave

Project Description:

This project is the total reconstruction of 104th Street from Hickman Road to Douglas Parkway as a three-lane urban section roadway. This road would have one lane in each direction plus a left turn lane. Storm sewer would be installed with this project to allow the ditches to be filled and curb and gutter used on the new street. Sidewalks will be provided on both sides of 104th Street.

Project Status Update, 06/13/2019:

104th Street is closed in Stage 1 (see Road Closure Map and Staging Map below).  104th Street is closed to all traffic at the creek crossing.  In the past weeks, significant rainfall has delayed both utility relocations and construction.

Utility relocation is nearly complete in Stage 1.  The Contractor, CTI, has started Stage 1 work, including culvert and storm sewer construction and water main relocation, around remaining utility work.  Storm sewer is being installed ahead of pavement removal in other stages to reduce the duration of future road closures.  Weather permitting, Stage 1 will be complete in mid-July, at which time work will move south to Stage 2.

Please check back to this page for project updates.  We appreciate your patience.

Access and Work Zones:

Portions of 104th Street will be completely closed to through traffic during construction.  Access will be provided for businesses along the road during road closures.  Please follow posted signs and detours for routing around construction.
