The Storm Water Grant Program uses a portion of the Storm Water Utility Fees to assist with storm water management on private property. These funds may be granted to property owners to prevent or repair storm water related damage and to improve drainage.
Examples of eligible projects include:
Measures to prevent erosion.
Expense for a contractor to place bank reinforcement.
Installation of a drain tile to dry a wet backyard.
Silt removal from storm water detention areas. For detention areas to be eligible, the improvements must return the area to the original detention volume.
The program does not include the removal of sump pumps connected to the sanitary sewer or items related to sump pumps. The grant cannot be used for aesthetic improvements only. It does not cover work inside the home.
